Washing Machine Error Codes

Read below for help with washing machine trouble!

Washing Machine error code?

First things first, if there is any kind of issue with your washing machine/ washer-dryer, the best thing to do is turn it off at the plug for 30 seconds and then turn it back on again.

Still displaying an error code?

The most common washing machine faults are caused by the filter being blocked. The filter is designed to catch anything that shouldn’t be in the washing machine. Occasionally, it needs to be cleaned out. If it’s blocked, this will cause the majority of error codes/draining problems.

The filter is normally found in the bottom right or bottom left corner of the machine. It looks like a dial that you can twist, and will probably be quite stiff. You will need to twist the filter, and carefully slot it out from the machine. It may well be blocked with coins, buttons or anything else that’s escaped, or just be a bit dirty. You’ll need to remove anything stuck in there, and give the filter a rinse under the tap. Once it’s clean, just slot it back in. Hopefully your error code has disappeared!

If this still doesn’t fix the problem, it’s a good idea to google your washing machine brand and the error code displayed, e.g. Bosch E17, and it will at least give you an idea of what the problem is.
